    270801 - IM Basketball - Men's

    One of the most popular Intramural events at Oakland University, Intramural Basketball is available to teams of all skill levels. Whether you are looking to continue to play organized basketball, release some competitive spirit, or just get some good old-fashioned exercise, Intramural Basketball is a great sport for students, faculty, staff or Recreation Center members. Teams will play in a five game regular season, typically playing one game per week. As always, good sportsmanship is held in the highest regard. Basketball will count towards the Dynasty Award and the Athlete of the Year standings. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com/Oakland on January 12, 2015.

    270901 - IM Team Bowling - Men's

    Due to popular demand, the Intramural Sports Department is proud to present the Team Bowling League. This league will take place at Classic Lanes, located at 2145 Avon Industrial Lane, just a 7-minute drive from campus. The regular season will establish handicaps and determine which teams will qualify for playoffs. Register your team to participate in this 4-player team bowling league and help make it a yearly staple on the winter schedule. There is a team fee of $20 each week. Intramural participants will not be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages or smoke while bowling.

    271201 - IM Floor Hockey - Men's

    Floor Hockey is the closest thing IMís have to ice hockey. The intramural version is a no-contact sport which also restricts the stick from never passing the height of the waist. Played in the Activity Center of the Recreation Center, Floor Hockey uses a hard plastic ball in place of a puck and plastic sticks provided by the Recreation Center.

    290801 - Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED with First Aid

    The purpose of this American Red Cross training course is to teach the lay responder the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to both life-threatening and common first aid emergencies. Participants will learn skills to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in Adult, Children, and Infants along with skills to care for common first aid emergencies including sudden illnesses, burns, cuts, and more. The use of automated external defibrillators (AEDís) is covered in this training course. After successful completion of this course participants will receive American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification that is valid for 2 years.

    PLEASE NOTE: As told to Campus Recreation by the respective Departments, this class does NOT fulfill the School of Nursing nor the School of Health Sciences Requirements.

    291001 - CPR/AED Instructor Course

    The purpose of the instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross basic-level First Aid/CPR/AED courses. This course does not certify an individual to be able to teach the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

    Prerequisites
    -Be at least 16 years old on or before the last day of the instructor course
    -Possess current American Red Cross basic-level Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification
    -Successfully complete the Online Orientation to the First Aid/CPR/AED instructor Course.
    -Successfully complete the online orientation to the American Red Cross
    -Successfully complete the online First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Precourse Test with an 80% or better

    Participants who successfully complete the online requirements will be provided all necessary manuals for the course on the first day.

    Note: In addition to the registration fees paid to Campus Recreation, there is a $35 registration fee paid to the Red Cross when taking the onilne session.

    369901 - Bike Loan-Spring Summer

    The Bike Loan program for Students, Faculty, and Staff who wish to check out a bike for an extended period of time. Schwin bikes will be available for check out at the Recreation Center from May 20, 2015 through August 20, 2015. Included in the no cost check out will be the bike and a lock. Students will receive an information sheet when they check out the bikes with the expectations of the program. Provided that the bikes are returned with reasonable wear and tear, in good working order, there will no charge. However, students may be held accountable for mis-use, abuse or failing to return the bikes up to $200 on a case by case basis.

    On May 19, 2015, a lottery draw will be conducted to determine those who will have the first chance to check out a bike and the order of others for a waiting list. After the random draw, anyone wishing to sign up for the program may do so by either method and will be placed on the wait list in the order in which they are received. Those selected to check out a bike will be contacted and will be able to pick up their bike beginning May 20, 2015.

    Deadline to sign up for the lottery is May 18, 2015
