    250401 - S.C.U.B.A.

    Throughout the course, youíll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide. You'll earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives. This is part one of a two part certification course. Part one consists of the academic (classroom) and confined (pool) portions. Then you can either make arrangements in the Spring/Summer to complete Part 2 (open water training) through the staff of instructors at Great Lakes DiveCenter or purchase a referral kit to complete your part 2 while on vacation.

    This 2 day course usually meets from 9:00am to 8:00pm and consists of part one (classroom and pool portions) of the PADI open water certification course.

    Pre-requisites: Minimum of 10 years of age; ability to swim 200 yards without equipment or 300 yards with mask, fins & snorkel.

    Floor Hockey is the closest thing IMís have to ice hockey. The intramural version is a no-contact sport which also restricts the stick from never passing the height of the waist. Played in the Activity Center of the Recreation Center, Floor Hockey uses a hard plastic ball in place of a puck and plastic sticks provided by the Recreation Center.

    290804 - Adult and Pediatric CPA/AED with First Aid Blended Learning

    The purpose of this American Red Cross training course is to teach the lay responder the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to both life-threatening and common first aid emergencies. Participants will learn skills to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in Adult, Children, and Infants along with skills to care for common first aid emergencies including sudden illnesses, burns, cuts, and more. The use of automated external defibrillators (AEDís) is covered in this training course. After successful completion of this course participants will receive American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and American Red Cross First Aid certification cards that are valid for 2 years.

    This section of Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED with First Aid is offered in the blended learning format where participants will take a portion of the class online and a portion of the class in person; the online portion of the class must be completed at last 3 days prior to the in-class session of the course. Approximately two weeks prior to the classroom session, participants will receive an e-mail with a link to online portion of the class through the American Red Cross website.

    PLEASE NOTE: this class does NOT fulfill the School of Nursing nor the School of Health Sciences Requirements.

    The link to the online session will be e-mailed out one week prior to the classroom session date.

    The 2.5 hours of online training must be completed prior the in-class session date; print and bring with you to classroom session the proof of completion.

    369901 - Bike Loan-Spring Summer

    The Bike Loan program is for Students who wish to check out a bike for an extended period of time. Schwin bikes will be available for check out at the Outdoor Complex for the semseter. Included in the no cost check out will be the bike and a lock. Participants will receive an information sheet when they check out the bikes with the expectations of the program. Provided that the bikes are returned with reasonable wear and tear, in good working order, there will no charge. However, students may be held accountable for mis-use, abuse or failing to return the bikes up to $200 on a case by case basis.

    A lottery draw will be conducted to determine those who will have the first chance to check out a bike and the order of others for a waiting list.

    390403 - Lifeguard Test Out Session for LGI/LGIT Review Participants

    This test out session is only availble to LGI and LGIT certified individuals who are also enrolling in the LGI/LGIT Review session the same weekend. Upon successful completion of this optional test out session, LGI/LGIT participants will be certified in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED r.2017 which is valid for 2 years.

    391102 - LGI & LGIT Review Course

    The purpose of this American Red Cross course is two-fold. The first is to practice, improve and polish skills to ensure instructors and instructor trainers can perform these skills as well as be able to recognize correct and incorrect skill performance. Second is to ensure consistency of Red Cross program skills and knowledge across the instructors and instructor trainers through feedback and evaluation from the instructor trainer. Successful completion of this review course will extended the instructor and/or instructor trainer certifications 2 years.


    Participants must be currently certified in LGI and/or LGIT through the American Red Cross and have completed the online updated. Instructor Profile/Transcript indicating 'Lifeguarding Instructor 1 Year' and/or 'Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer 1 Year' must be provided as proof of completion.
